System and Software Engineer
I hold BSEE and MSEE degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and have been taking classes and learning new techniques and computer languages ever since graduation.

- Employed by three of the country's premier aerospace companies as a:
- communication system analyst,
- embedded avionic system software developer,
- software configuration manager, and
- project software builder and distributor.
- Full life cycle experience on major projects in the roles of:
- technical analyst,
- software developer,
- supervisor,
- manager, and
- technology study leader.
- Functional responsibility for 50 people; project responsibility for 25.
- Excellent technical writer and editor.
During my career, I
- created analysis and simulation programs for communications systems,
- developed software for various time-sharing computer operating systems, VAX and UNIX,
- wrote programs in FORTRAN, C/C++, several assembly languages, UNIX shell languages and Tcl/Tk,
- developed real-time, embedded, flight software for military aircraft,
- formulated software development plans for major new aircraft projects,
- headed a group investigating integrated software development tools and processes,
- oversaw and coordinated computer system administrators, and
- performed project software builds and configuration management on UNIX systems, first with RCS and then with ClearCase.
I first saw a ClearCase demonstration as part of a Silicon Graphics, Incorporated, presentation in early 1994 and have used ClearCase daily for 7 years, merging concurrent development branches into configured ones and performing configured software builds.
I also develop and maintain web pages for several organizations using Dreamweaver and Fireworks on Windows computers. These applications incorporate HTML, JavaScript, PHP, and MySql.
